Ms. SHARMALA BATUMALAI

Sharmala manages our main office in Kuala Lumpur.

She graduated from the Queensland University of Technology, Australia in 2000 and furthers her master study in law in our country’s prestigious University of Malaya in 2003. She was called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor in January 2002.

She practiced with the litigation branch of Messrs HAMZAH SULAIMAIN & PARTNERS Kuala Lumpur since 2003 and was made Partner in 2007. She then left the firm in 2016 to establish this Firm.

She is an experienced lawyer for sixteen (16) years who manage and handles matters relating to land law, commercial, banking and finance, insurance, matrimonial, estate, and probate matters.

Sharmala is currently serving as a Commissioner of Oaths in Kuala Lumpur and she is also a sitting committee member in the Malaysia Bar Council Disciplinary Committee since 2014.

Ms. LIEW SEK YUEN (SYLVIA)

Sylvia Liew is the Managing Partner of our Ipoh Branch. She was called to the Malaysia Bar in 2003 and holds a Bachelor of Laws and Masters of Laws (Intellectual Property & Technology Laws) from Queensland University of Technology, Australia.

She practiced with TOH THEAM HOCK & Co (Ipoh Branch) for 12 years and was made a partner in 2017 and managed their Ipoh branch. She then left and joined Sharmala to set up this Firm in year 2018.

She is a highly experienced advocate and solicitor practicing for fifteen (15) years and is well versed with matters relating to real estate property transactions, commercial and corporate matters, project financing and housing scheme. Sylvia manages a portfolio of corporate as well as individual clients, advising them in various areas of corporate and commercial laws. She handled banking and corporate finance transactions and rendered legal advises for majority of the financial institutions in Malaysia. She also conducts civil litigation in areas of Family Law and estate and probate matters.
